After the bounty of Thanksgiving, come to Mount Vernon Music Hall for a feast for your ears of music by Robert and Clara Schumann.
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27 in the Mount Vernon Music Hall. A great hero in the legacy of Romantic music, Robert Schumann was born two centuries ago this year. Mount Vernon Music performers pay tribute to him and his wife, Clara, with three of their most memorable pieces.
Robert Schumann’s the Fairy Tales op. 113 for viola and piano, and his best-loved piece of chamber music ever, Quintet in E-flat major op. 44, are to be featured.
Also on the musical menu will be the Trio for violin, cello and piano op. 17, a romantic masterpiece by Clara Schumann. Mrs. Schumann, a brilliant pianist and composer, was the mother of their eight children. For more details, see the Nov. 25 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
