Jerrilyn Hammond, age four, shows off her two 5.25 pound cabbages to Sharon Martin of Franklin County Lawn and Feed, who provided her the starter plants in February. Jerrilyn, the daughter of Jerrod and Brandi Hammond  was anxious to plant her own plants. Her “Nanny” and “Pa”, Jimmy and Donna Trantham, provided her a spot in their newly prepared vegetable garden off CR NW1014. The preschooler was there regularly to water, weed and talk to her plants. She harvested the plants July 3 and shared the  crop, which made about four meals each, according to her grandmother.
