John Shafer will be the guest speaker for the Monday, Nov. 2 meeting of the Franklin County Historical Association. The evening will begin with a pot luck meal at 7 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Center.
Mr. Shafer will talk about Fort Sherman, which was established on Cypress Creek, and the early settlement of this area. See the Oct. 29 edition of the Optic-Herald for more information.
