Kids Under Construction Daycare at the First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon had it’s annual food drive contest to help replenish the stock of Franklin County Food Bank after the Christmas season.  The school age students won the contest this year by collecting 418 non-perishable items.  The overall total collected was 1, 072 items. The winning class had a “Build your own sundae” party as their reward for collecting the most food.  The center has also been collecting donations of money to send to Haiti. (Optic Photo ’10)
