Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

A fish fry fund-raiser is set for Saturday, April 10 to collect funds for the Black Onyx Club’s Scholarship Fund for Mount Vernon youth.
Serving begins at 10 a.m. and will continue until sold out. This year’s event will be conducted at the Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge Hall, off the south access road, east of Hwy. 37, in Mount Vernon.
Club members will prepare a meal of fresh fried catfish, hush puppies, French fries, coleslaw, and choice of drinks.  A donation of $6.50 or more per plate is asked. An assortment of desserts will be available for an additional charge. Prices will vary for the desserts.
Eat in or take out orders will be available. All proceeds over expenses will go toward this year’s student scholarships. For more information, see the April 1 edition of the Optic-Herald.
