A sea of smoked hams filled tables and a trailer at the Mount Vernon volunteer fire department on Saturday, April 3. Members of the department smoked 291 hams and loaded them for customers who drove through the garage at the buidling on Hwy. 37. The organizations earned $5,045 after expenses to help fund hoses on the new fire truck and to replace fire gear.
