Advance entries are being sought for the seventh annual Spring Bake-Off sponsored by the Key Club. The event, set in conjunction with the annual Cypress SpringFest, will be Saturday, April 17. Registration cost is $10 for each category. A printed copy of the recipe for publication is to be submitted at the time of check-in. Contestants can enter three categories, including cakes, pies, and student desserts (ages five to 18 years) divisions. The student category may be any dessert cooked by the student. Those entering must produce two (duplicates) of each item entered. One of the items will be cut for judging and sampling. The duplicate entry will be auctioned or sold for profit. There will be two winners in each category, first place for $50 and second place for $25. See the April 8 edition of the Optic-Herald for more information.
