A National Day of Prayer luncheon has been scheduled for Thursday, May 6 at the Family Life Center at the First United Methodist Church of Mount Vernon. The luncheon will be from 12 to 1 p.m, with the serving line beginning at 11:30. This year’s theme, “Prayer for Such a Time as This,” is based on the verse from Nahum 1:7 which states: “The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble.
