David Chaney, a volunteer with the Community Food Bank of Franklin County and Postmaster Monty White display the more than 1,000 pounds of food collected during the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers, in conjunction with the United States Postal Service on Saturday, May 8. The rural carriers in Mount Vernon picked up the food from resident’s mailboxes and several items were delivered to the local post office.
