A community fund-raiser to benefit Jenene Dale is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 26 at the school. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the mall area in front of the main school cafeteria. Mrs. Dale is the Dean of Students at Mount Vernon Intermediate School and is currently battling her third bout with cancer. She and her husband, Gyle, have two children, Gilbert and Jaelyn, who attend Mount Vernon schools. For more information, see the Feb. 10 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
