Zane Holland is pinned by his father, Hans Holland, at the Pack 271 Blue and Gold Banquet Monday, Feb. 28.
The Bobcat badge for Cub Scouts is pinned on while the boy is upside down, because it is never proper to put on a badge upside down. The badge becomes upside down when the boy is righted, and remains that way until the Cub Scout does a good turn. A dozen Cub Scouts in Mount Vernon Pack 271 were awarded their Bobcat badges during the Pack’s annual banquet.
