Around 1,500 people attended the inaugural Piney Woods Wine Trail Festival with more than 1,000 taking advantage of the various wineries represented at the gazebo level booths.
Vivian Shirley and Dara Fisk check out the wares at one of the wine merchants on the downtown square during the wine festival. “We had more than 1,000 paid attendees,” noted Willie Bane, local event coordinator for the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce. “We had people from as far away as New Mexico, Alaska, California, Colorado and Louisiana to register as guests.” See the May 26 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more details from the festival.
