Legion volunteers sort goods donated for flood victims in Louisiana. More than $2,500 in products and $3,500 in cash were donated to the effort. A motorcycle poker run will be conducted from the American Legion Post 243 on Saturday, June 4 to benefit victims of flooding in Louisiana.
There will be an entry fee of $5 per person, plus one or more items from the relief donation list.
The event will begin with the first bike out from the American Legion at 11 a.m. The last bike will return by 4 p.m. The post is located on CR SE4265 off FM 21, one mile east of FM 115. For more information, see the June 2 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
