Sign-up began last week for girls to be contestants in the 43rd annual Miss Mount Vernon Scholarship Pageant. Registration will  continue through 6 p.m. Monday, June 13 when contestants will meet in the First National Bank’s Century Room. Those planning to participate should register prior to that date. No registrations will be accepted after the meeting, according to Heather Bales, pageant coordinator. Girls interested in participating may either contact Mrs. Bales at 903-537-2201 or the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce at 903-537-4365 to obtain a registration form or to get additional information.
