Mickey’s Cafe on the Square celebrates during a Franklin County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, June 1. Owners Peggy and Sid Oalmann were joined by friends, family, customers, and members of the Chamber for the event. The cafe features Italian and Cajun Cuisine and is located at 104 E. Main St. on the south side of the downtown Mount Vernon square. They are open for lunch Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and remain open for dinner on Friday and Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. (Optic Photo by Susan Reeves ‘09)
