Counties are being asked to make up for a drop in almost a $1 million in federal funds to Eighth Judicial District Juvenile Probation Department over the past six years.  County commissioners have set a special workshop meeting to deal with this and other budget matters at 9 a.m. Friday, July 31. Franklin County is being asked to fund an additional $6,120. That brings the county’s portion to $25,604. See the July 30 edition of the Optic-Herald for more information.
