The city’s adjusted property tax base evaluations dropped almost one percent for 2009 according to certifications received from the Franklin County Appraisal District last week. The City of Mount Vernon’s adjusted property tax base fell $3,157,400 from $88,980,930 to $85,823,530. The year before the property tax base for the city grew almost three percent over 2007.
