The 2009 Franklin County Sheriff’s Posse Championship Labor Day Weekend Rodeo provided entertainment and competition for large crowds on Sept. 5 and 6. A total of 3,600 attended the rodeo during its two night run. Preliminary counts show that between concession sales and gate admissions, the rodeo grossed around $16,800. Proceeds are earmarked for improvements to the arena and grounds, and to support a college scholarship for a local high school graduate.
