Neighborhood Watch sign-ups will be the focus for the community’s third participation in the National Night Out Against Crime. The local event will get underway at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, on the plaza in downtown Mount Vernon.
Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy a cookout with hot dogs, chips and soft drinks. There is no charge, however, donations are welcomed. For more information, see the Oct. 1 edition of the Optic-Herald.
