Approximately five jailers are expected to lose their jobs  at midnight Tuesday, Oct. 27. Franklin County Commissioners came to a consensus agreement at a special meeting Monday, Oct. 19. The jailers salaries are part of cuts being made at the local facility to reduce overhead costs after inmates from the U. S. Marshal’s Service and other local counties were pulled from the Franklin County Jail. See the Oct. 22 edition of the Optic-Herald for more information.
