Contribute to Haiti relief at Brookshires

Print

Area residents can now donate to the Haiti relief effort when they shop at the local Brookshire’s Food Store.
Brookshire’s and Super 1 Foods stores have initiated a scan coupon donation program to benefit earthquake victims of Haiti through American Red Cross efforts.
Customers can purchase a $1 or $5 coupon when they check out, and all donations will go to the Red Cross to help people affected by the catastrophe that struck Haiti on Tuesday, Jan. 12.
The Tyler, Texas-based grocery company will match the first $10,000 that customers donate in this program.
The Red Cross has estimated that more than a million people could be affected by the earthquake disaster.
“We’ve conducted similar disaster relief efforts in the past, such as hurricane relief programs,” President and CEO Rick Rayford said. “It gives our employees and customers a chance to easily contribute and help these victims.”
