Pipe is being stockpiled for the water line replacement project for the City of Mount Vernon. Billy Cummings  Construction of Sulphur Springs was the successful bidder on the project at $1.8 million. The pipe and related materials are being secured behind the old Texas Department of Transportation building next to the cemetery east of downtown. Mr. Cummings, right, said that dirt work should begin next week along Hwy. 67E from downtown.
