Franklin County was awarded a $2,125,000 grant by the Texas Historical Commission (THC) in Round VI of its nationally recognized Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program for exterior preservation work on Friday, Jan. 29 in Austin. Franklin County’s project was ranked second of those funded, with La Salle ranked first and awarded a $3.5 million grant. See the Feb. 4 edition of the Optic-Herald for more detials.
