Homeowners block county road change

Print

Property owners from three developments voiced objections to the proposed rerouting of a portion of CR SE3305. Their opposition blocked Derkin Properties Cypress, LP’s request to change the road.
David Rouble, one of the developers, laid out the plan for straightening an “S” curve in the roadway and dedicating a 50 foot wide easement to the county. The company asked that once the new section was complete that the county relinquish the easement to the old road way.
More than 20 guests packed the gallery for the meeting. Jay Grob, who owns lot 100 Country Club Estates, was the primary spokesperson for the homeowners. Their opposition blocked the request of Derkin Properties Cypress, LP request to change the road. See the Feb. 25 edition of the Optic-Herald for more information.
