The trade magazine Progressive Grocer has recognized Brookshire Grocery Company (BGC) as one of the new Green Grocer Award recipients for 2010. BGC was selected for its approach on sustainability practices and environmental responsibility. The company was acknowledged for its numerous efforts that are in effect company-wide, including increasing its recycling program and for decreasing its energy usage.
