The follow up phase of the 2010 Census will begin on Saturday, May 1 when workers begin going door-to-door.
At the end of the mail back period, 72 percent of households nationwide have returned the 2010 Census forms. In Franklin County, 66 percent have been returned by mail.
Census workers will begin visiting homes from which forms have not been returned. They will either interview the residents and complete the form, or they will leave a form for completion in the doorway of the home.
