The election of two persons to fill seats on the Mount Vernon City Council and confirm  J. D. Baumgardner as mayor will be Saturday, May 8. There will be one polling place, which will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the council chambers of City Hall, 109 N. Kaufman Street. See the May 6 edition of the Optic-Herald for more information.
