Texas Comptroller Susan Combs today announced that the state collected $1.78 billion in sales tax revenue in May, a 0.1 percent increase compared to May 2009. Franklin County’s tax allocation for the month of May was skewed due to a one time payment by a single taxpayer last year. Because of that one time payment, official comparisons show the county’s sales tax down 73.78 percent from this time last year.
