A fund for donations to construct a swimming pool for the City of Mount Vernon was started last week.
Members of the council and concerned citizens made a display of faith in offering just over $600 to start the fund following the Tuesday, Aug. 24 meeting of the Mount Vernon City Council. For details, see the Sept. 2 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
