The Franklin County Water District will be able to lower its tax rate thanks to the continued increasing values of property in the district.
The district is proposing a tax rate of $.0279 per $100 of taxable value on the $1,089,208,410 of total taxable property. That rate is $.0039 less than last year’s rate. Taxes on an $80,000 home, which were $25.44 last year, should be $22.32 at this year’s rate. At the proposed rate, the tax for the water district on an average home in Franklin County is expected to drop around 13.24 percent from what was paid last year.
