Representative Mark Homer has been elected vice chairman of the Communities in Schools State Advisory Committee by his colleagues on the board.
He was appointed to the committee in 2009 by House Speaker Joe Straus.
“I am honored that my colleagues have entrusted me with the responsibility of being vice chairman and I look forward to continuing my involvement with this amazing program,” Rep. Homer said. “I have always been passionate about providing the best educational opportunities to our children, and this program has proven to be incredibly effective at preventing dropouts and preparing students for a successful future.” For more information, see the Sept. 2 edition of the Optic-Herald.
