Marvin Alderman of Idabel lays across a bronc in the bare back riding competition. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Posse Annual Labor Day Rodeo drew competitors both locally, around the state, and from other states for the nine events offered. Approximately 150 cowboys and cowgirls registered as contestants in the various events offered. Almost $10,000 in prizes was awarded in the various  competitions.
