Sixteen light poles were installed at the Franklin County Sports Complex last week by Instratrux, a contracting firm from Sherman.
The poles tower 62 feet in the air with eight feet underground. The lighting fixtures are expected to be attached after the first of the year. Cost of this portion of the project is just over $18,000. Work continues on the field fencing, with three fields at 85 percent complete and one at 50 percent complete. Infield poles for fencing on two more are to be set the week of Jan. 3, according to Don Bohlken, project manager for Franklin County. A fund raising dinner and auction is being planned for the end of January to help finance completion of the complex project.
