Community support rallied to raise more than $25,000 for use in construction of the Franklin County Sports Complex Saturday night, Jan. 29.
“We expect to be able to have at least six fields ready for play this spring,” Pct. 1 Commissioner Danny Chitsey said after the event.
The Franklin County Baseball Association will be asked to contribute toward the construction, he said. Local banks are being asked to provide the electronic scoreboards for the fields. No specifics have been released. For more details, see the Feb. 2 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
