The deadline to file as a candidate in any of the three local elections is 5 p.m. Monday, March 14. All offices will be open until that time to accept filings. Seats are up for election on the Mount Vernon Independent School District’s Board of Trustees, Franklin County Water District Board of Directors and Mount Vernon City Council.
