The use of city economic development sales tax funds was the core of actions taken at last week’s Mount Vernon City Council meeting. Members of the council approved the appointment of three new members to the Mount Vernon Economic Development Board and requested a letter be sent to the Franklin County Industrial Foundation asking that the city’s Economic Development and Main Street coordinator Teresia Wims be released from any work related duties on the foundation’s behalf.
