The Franklin County Historical Commission was awarded the Texas State Historical Commission’s Distinguished Service Award.
The award recognizes county historical commissions that have demonstrated substantial preservation efforts, cultivated partnerships and engaged in educational opportunities that lead to a greater understanding of state and local history. Members of the board were on hand to accept the award presented by County Judge Paul Lovier. Accepting the award were volunteer Chuck Armstrong, director Nicki Armstrong, presenter Judge Lovier, commission president B. F. Hicks, second vice-president Nancy Miller, first vice-president Jean Ann Marshall and secretary Lillie Bush-Reves.
