Both the City of Mount Vernon and Franklin County have joined the Texas Hotel and Lodging Association through their respective Hotel/Motel Tax Advisory Boards . County Commissioners Court members gave their approval at their Monday, April 11 meeting. The proposal to expend the $708.30 was presented by County Hotel/Motel Tax Advisory Board President Willie Bane. He presented the same proposal to the City’s Hotel/Motel Tax Advisory Board  Friday, April 1. The City’s advisory board approved their membership  at a cost of $640.80.
