We have overthrown the council, mayor and city manager!!! We will get our sewers cleaned out for free, at the expense of the 97%, no code enforcement-renters will pay high prices and not be safe, awesome! Your taxes will go up so we can get permits subsidized, and oh boy, our streets can't be paved w/o a tax increase and/or a water increase we want deal with-because we left all of that type of stuff for the last council to clean up-thanks voters-we enjoy the subsidization!

The fundamental principles of American democracy (e.g., the people are sovereign; the power of government is limited by law; people exercise their authority directly through voting; people exercise their authority indirectly through elected representatives )

I salute Mr. J. D. Baumgardner for his unusual dedication and untiring service to the betterment of Mount Vernon and his citizens. This wonderful mayor freely gave of his time to help make Mt. Vernon a better place. I have not seen many other citizens who would help to clean brush away and sweep grass clippings from the road (Hwy 37) a weekend before Springfest. He not only promoted tourism in our town and county, but he has also conducted tours for many out of town groups on a moment's notice. This man chose to live here, in Franklin County and Mt. Vernon, in his retirement years, and he has given us good leadership all these years. I believe if you would write down the good things he has done for the city and county, and write down the not so good things he has done for us; the good would surely outweigh the not so good. I am very sad he did not complete his term. I wish him well.

The puppet exited stage right. Now then how will we deal with the Puppet Master. He is the only man left standing. How long, will it take him to wise up and exit stage right.
