Replacement housing grant application deadline Monday

Print

Applications for the City of Mount Vernon’s HOME Program must be returned to the city office no later than Monday, June 20. To date, only five applications have been completed and turned in, and there is funding available for up to six complete rebuilding projects. Additional requests are needed.
“Even if the packet is not quite complete they should be turned in,” Mrs. Rose stressed. “A representative with Lucas Consulting can assist with incomplete portions of the application.”
The city received a grant from Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. This $522,000 grant is for the replacement of up to six substandard houses for low-income homeowners. Applications are available at the Mount Vernon City Hall. For information, see the June 16 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
