Many ponds in Franklin County are beginning to show signs of the extended drought and heat. Thermometers across Franklin County were pushed to extremes as 112° was registered on Tuesday, Aug. 2.
That is the highest temperature recorded in Franklin County since before 1977. The hot, dry weather continues to dominate the area. Twelve record high temperatures were recorded during the month of July and a minimum year-to-date rainfall record was set. To date, only 14.96 inches of rain has fallen.
