Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

The City of Mount Vernon’s Comprehensive Development Plan is nearing completion. Citizens will have one of two final opportunities to make their wishes known in a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 31 at City Hall.
For the past 10 months the city’s 15-member Comprehensive Development Planning Committee and various citizens attending the committee’s meetings have worked through this process of creating a comprehensive plan. More information about the plan is available in the March 19 edition of the Optic-Herald.
A copy of the full plan is on file at the Mount Vernon City Hall and is available for review by any interested person / group. Click here to see a color map of the proposed future land use plan.
