August 2011 was the hottest month ever recorded in Franklin County. Temperatures exceeded previous high records on 19 days and matched the records on four more. The highest temperature previously recorded was 107° on Aug. 2, 1998. That mark was surpassed with 112° recorded on Aug. 3, 2011.
