Dumpsters are being provided for disposal of household garbage to residents of Franklin County Commissioner Precincts 1 and 4. Pct. 1 Commissioner Danny Chitsey will join Pct. 4 Commissioner Sam Young to offer this service to their constituents in hopes of avoiding the temptation for some to burn their garbage during this time of extreme wildfire danger.
The Pct. 1 dumpster will be available at the precinct’s maintenance facility starting Friday, Sept. 16. The facility is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Hwy. 37 and FM 71.
The Pct. 4 dumpster has been available since September 6. The dumpster is  located at the precinct maintenance facility near the intersection of FM 115 and FM 1448. See the September 15 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more information.
