The Franklin County jail passed its annual inspection by the Texas Commission on Jail Standards without a single negative comment or deficiency.
“I was very pleased with the outcome,” Sheriff Paul Fletcher said emphatically.
The 2010 initial inspection found multiple deficiencies, primarily in documentation, physical inspection of the prisoners, and other record keeping. Those issues were addressed and the jail passed a second inspection. For more information, see the September 22 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
