Starla McCarthy assumed duties as the chief jailer of the Franklin County Jail on Aug. 3, 2011.
Mrs. McCarthy has worked as a jailer in the facility for the past five years. Prior to working in the Franklin County Jail, she worked for three years as a jailer in Titus County. For more information, see the September 22 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
