Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

The Mount Vernon Rotary Club collected $675 in donations, plus several cases of bottled water last week for the Franklin County Fire Departments. Gerry Allen, Franklin County Fire Marshal, presented a program on the current fire danger at the Sept. 9 meeting of the club, complete with photos of the fires at Bastrop, Cass County, Smithville and Aldine, as well as photos and videos of Franklin County fires.
