The installation of just under 4,500 new meters by personnel of the Cypress Springs Special Utility District is underway. About 700 will be in place by the end of this week, according to Kevin Spencer, right, field operations supervisor. Brangus Winkle, left, assists in the documentation and replacement of the meter at this Kings Country home. Each replacement requires less than 30 minutes. Once in place, the new meters will allow electronic reading of the meters from a distance. The installations will be complete early next year.
