Judy Castle Scott of Mount Vernon and Dallas was appointed as Chairperson of Governor Rick Perry’s Committee on People with Disabilities. This twelve member committee makes recommendations to the Governor and Legislature about changes in Texas laws affecting people with disabilities. Mrs. Scott, who is blind, has worked with people who are visually impaired for 40 years. She began the work upon her graduation from East Texas State University, now Texas A&M University - Commerce.
