Fall foliage spotty this season

Print

Fall foliage spotty this seasonThe leaves on the trees were bright with color at the corner of FM 115 and CR SE3070 earlier this month. The prolonged drought has taken its toll on trees and other vegetation throughout Texas, causing the browning of leaves and premature leaf drop.  However, reports from northeast Texas indicate the leaves of some hardwoods are turning dazzling shades of yellow, orange and crimson. See the November 24 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for a listing of where colorful trees have been spotted.
